Choo Mantar Kannada : A Horror Movie Review

The Kannada film industry can be defined as “hit-or-miss” variety in terms of horror comedies, and that industry is familiar with what is defined above. Choo Mantar is the movie in which Sharan plays the lead role, while the director Navaneeth, attempts to combine “Supernatural” and “Funny”. Wasted potential is perhaps the best way to describe the, because all components are in place, together with an engaging premise but it fails to leave an impact, in fact most of the time it can be infuriating.

The Story

Choo Mantar centers on a haunted house, the family who inhabits it, a ghost and many other persons in the house who do not know what drama is going to unfold, Choo Mantar beings with the Sharan character. Sharan, the main character of the movie is destitute, and he travels to an immoderately weird house through hypothetical circumstances. After this reveals itself the movie plays out similarly to ghostbusters with the characters attempting to unveil a mystery against a ghost and bizarre events.

What Works

The feature that most could be relied on turned out to be the funniest aspect of the movie. One of the comedians Sharan, managed to turn Beyhadh into a funny movie by randomly performing an act that gave the movie a humorous touch. Some known faces alongside veteran comedians join the cast and they also help with the comedic aspect of the movie.

The background soundtrack does not take prominence but adds to the haunted tone perfectly. I think special mention should be given to the architecture of the movie that blends perfectly with the score to deliver a slightly frightening yet funny experience. In short, the score complements the comedy instead of overwhelming it.

To their credit, some of the film’s comedic moments are exceptionally funny, The jump scares in particular were unoriginal and left something to be desired. Additionally, the pacing of the story and the events slows down in the second half as the movie starts building up to an overdramatic ending.

Another letdown is the story that has been portrayed in a mediocre way throughout the screenplay. Generally, fans of the genre have come across similar stories, and this one does not differ in any respect. This lack of flavour greatly diminishes the originality of the film and renders it hard to focus on the movie.

The Characters

The strongest point of this movie definitely has to be the character of Sharan as he effectively narrates the entire movie through his acting. His comedic expressions and energy ensure that even the dullest scenes are saved. The rest of the cast also did a good job because all the representatives created the comedic aspect of the film. However, the absence of layers in their characterization did not help the entire plot much.

Conclusion

Choo Mantar” is a film where horror and comedy go hand in hand but does not accomplish in attaining equilibrium and does not work as one.” A Chowka Star has told a story that is easy to laugh at and remains within the bounds of sheer Nandayak. It does little to distinguish itself in the heavily saturated genre because of its conventional plot and uninspiring scares. Those who enjoy easygoing horror-comedy films, will probably be able to find some enjoyment with this film , those who do not are likely to see potential that has been wasted.

To sum up: Choo Mantar is an appropriate endorsement that there are no limits to how badly a good idea can be implemented. Some may argue there are more interesting ways of spending an hour and a half, but for those in search of lighthearted entertainment.
