A triangular crime comedy promising laughter and thrills, hitting cinemas this Sankranthi 2025 for the perfect festive entertainment!

Storyline

The Indian chief minister Keshava (Naresh) gets his commander otser to lead the rescue mission after an entrepreneur tech sathya Akella is abducted soon after landing back into America from Telangana. Meenakshi (Meenakshi Chaudhary) alongside Yadagiri Damodhar Raju (Venkatesh), a former cop and Meenakshi’s ex-boyfriend, works on the high-stakes case together but their shared tragic past tries to put a strain on the relationship. Bhagyalakshmi (Aishwarya Rajesh) and her family reside in Andhra Pradesh while Raju lives a quiet life – leaving his active, high-octane lifestyle in the past. However, Meenashki does manage to convince him which makes one question, why was Satya kidnapped and, ultimately, who is behind the crime? Watch the full movie to find this out.

Movie Positives:

If Venky is said to be directing a family entertainer it is understood to be a guaranteed blockbuster and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is no different. He plays a caring doting family man, an innocent husband to an adorable wife and a strange ex-boyfriend of a shrewd police officer. His performance is quite remarkable as he has mastered the craft in terms of comic timing, delivering of dialogues and emotional expressions.

In a different Telugu movie, Aishwarya tries a tangy garam role as an overactive and over expressive ladye which is a new experience for her. The role mirrors the life of several married women, making her relatable.

In this second part of the movie, Aishwarya Rajesh makes fun of Meenakshi Chaudhary who plays her role excellently showcasing cuteness and confidence simultaneously. And of course her chemistry with Venaktesh was a blast.

There was effort put into creating comedy, and the results surpassed expectations: the film had many fun moments. These family moments coupled with the baffling fights between the three main politicians seemed more life-like than movie-like. The charm and fun of the spouses sailed onto the screen at every opportunity, be it Naresh and VTV Ganesh, Upendra Limaye, Sai Kumar, child artist Bheemala Revanth Pavan Sai Subhash.

Areas for Improvement:

It is unsurprising that the film is gripping in terms of entertainment, as that is the sole purpose of the film. But in contrast, the film does come off as simple and without any unique plot twists, giving off a more warm and comforting sensation instead of an engaging one.

With such a large cast, some characters felt underdeveloped, it’s fair to say they could have utilized some of them a little more better. They ought to be satisfying for a Venky but I would say the comedic pacing can definitely use a bit of improvement.

The latter half of the film could use a bit of tightening therefore some scenes do rely on quite the amount of logic.

Technological Elements:

As a self claim, the director has surely delivered on the scope of it being an enjoyable family watch and the humour being decently aged undertones. However I would say that this might have been an undertone for some people.

Bheems Ceciroleo’s music does genuinely seem to be out of place as well fitting in with the other songs, Sameer Reddy’s cinematography was quite good along with Amiru’s editing skills, everything entwined together to create a satisfying outcome.
